Bit Digital Acquires Over 19,000 ETH Following $67.3M Capital Raise

Bit Digital Inc. has acquired approximately 19,683 Ethereum (ETH) following the completion of a $67.3 million registered direct offering to institutional investors, the company announced on July 18. The purchase brings the firm’s total ETH holdings to about 120,306, placing it among the largest publicly reported institutional Ethereum treasuries. The offering was completed earlier this month, with proceeds directed toward expanding Bit Digital’s digital asset strategy. The acquisition aligns with the company’s ongoing effort to diversify its treasury and deepen its involvement in blockchain infrastructure. Staking Strategy and Validator Operations Bit Digital confirmed that the majority of its Ethereum is staked as part of its validator operations. The company currently participates in Ethereum’s proof-of-stake network, earning staking rewards while contributing to the network’s overall security and performance. “As part of our broader digital asset infrastructure initiative, operating Ethereum validators remains a central focus,” said Bit Digital CEO Sam Tabar in a prepared statement. “This approach provides both yield generation and a role in the network’s growth.” The company’s strategy enables investors to gain regulated exposure to Ethereum’s performance through a traditional equity vehicle, with operations conducted under public company compliance and reporting standards. Ethereum’s Role in Digital Finance Bit Digital described Ethereum as a foundational asset in the evolving digital financial system. The firm noted ETH’s growing role in decentralized applications, stablecoin collateralization, and tokenized asset infrastructure. The company views Ethereum not just as a speculative asset, but as a core layer in the development of a programmable and yield-generating financial ecosystem. Bit Digital’s increasing allocation toward ETH reflects a broader trend among institutional players seeking to participate in blockchain-based finance through diversified asset exposure and operational involvement. Bit Digital also operates infrastructure for Bitcoin and other digital assets, but the recent focus on Ethereum marks a notable expansion of its staking and treasury strategy.
