KuCoin Thailand on Friday opened public access to its digital asset trading platform, ending its invite-only phase and marking its official market entry following regulatory approval from the Securities and Exchange Commission of Thailand.

The move follows a rebranding from ERX to KuCoin Thailand and aligns with the company’s efforts to operate under full compliance with Thai financial regulations. The platform, now open to all eligible users in Thailand, is part of a broader strategy to expand KuCoin’s presence in Southeast Asia.

The Securities and Exchange Commission of Thailand has confirmed that the platform operates under its regulatory framework, ensuring legal access for users across the country.

Focus on Infrastructure, Local Market Integration

KuCoin Thailand built its platform on an infrastructure shared with its global counterpart, offering access to a system with millions of global users. The company emphasized that its services would include fiat on-ramp and off-ramp support, as well as localized customer service.

The platform also introduced a new brand mascot named “Kuku,” which it described as a representation of its identity in the Thai market. While primarily a visual branding element, Kuku is expected to appear across events and campaigns aimed at fostering user engagement.

KuCoin Thailand’s entry into the public market follows months of limited access during a closed beta period. The company’s transition from ERX to its current branding reflects a broader restructuring to align with KuCoin’s international operations. KuCoin joins a growing list of digital asset platforms operating under Thai regulatory oversight amid increased interest in cryptocurrency trading and blockchain-based finance.
