Starknet, a layer-2 scaling network built on Ethereum, experienced a service outage early Tuesday, temporarily halting block production and transaction processing. The incident occurred between 2:23 a.m. and 4:36 a.m. UTC, according to official updates shared on the project’s social media channels.
During the disruption, transactions submitted within that timeframe were not processed, and the network later confirmed that they would not appear on-chain. Users who attempted to execute transfers or interact with applications during the outage will be required to resubmit their transactions.
Starknet is back online and fully operational.

Block Reorganisation Implemented
In its follow-up statement, Starknet reported that a reorganisation from block 1,960,612 was committed, effectively overwriting about one hour of blockchain activity. While block production has since returned to normal, the reorg means that all transactions included from that block forward are void.
Most remote procedure call (RPC) providers have resumed normal operations, while a few are expected to upgrade in order to fully restore services. The network assured users that the core system is back online and functioning.
Next Steps and Retrospective
Starknet developers said they are preparing a detailed retrospective on the incident. The report will outline the full timeline, identify the root cause of the failure, and describe long-term measures aimed at preventing a recurrence.
The outage marks one of the more notable interruptions for the network in recent months, highlighting the challenges blockchain infrastructure continues to face as it scales. For now, users are advised to verify their transactions and resubmit any that failed to process during the downtime.
